Role Summary
The Billing Operations Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing and automating our billing processes. This position involves technical expertise primarily in software engineering, with a focus on developing, analyzing, and improving billing systems and interfaces. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across various departments.
Responsibilities
- Feature Development: Identify and automate recurring edge cases to enhance billing accuracy and efficiency.
- Statement Generation and Review: Ensure accurate and timely delivery of energy billing statements.
- Delayed Billing / Rebilling Scenarios: Oversee and improve the transition processes for delayed / rebilling scenarios to ensure seamless operations.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Support, Engineering, and Finance teams, and Utilities directly, to align billing processes with broader company operations and goals.
- Process Optimization: Continuously seek and implement improvements in the billing process through technology and collaboration with internal teams.
Experience and Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in a software engineering or technical role, preferably in a FinTech or related industry.
- Strong programming skills and experience with database management.
- Familiarity with billing systems and financial software is highly advantageous.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with multiple stakeholders.
