Job Description:
At King Energy, we're on a mission to revolutionize the renewable energy sector by building, owning, and operating solar infrastructure on multi-tenant properties. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Portfolio Manager to join our dynamic team and help us manage our growing portfolio of commercial and industrial (C&I) solar projects. You’ll help build our portfolio management function from the ground up, while working directly with our financing partners building scalable financing programs. Current number of active solar projects number in the high double digits. In addition to growing the world class portfolio management function, there will be ample opportunity to fund raise and interact with current and potential investors.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field or experience.
- 5+ years of experience in renewable energy, at an asset management firm, or in a high growth startup.
- Strong knowledge of solar energy systems and solar project financing structures.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills and a strong sense of client service.
- Visionary thinking with the ability to conceptualize and implement best-in-class portfolio management practices
- Analytical mindset with a passion for diving deep into data and finding solutions collaboratively.
- Highly organized with a talent for developing and implementing structured processes.
Responsibilities:
- You’ll build relationships with our financing partners and ensure that our solar assets are in compliance with our financing programs.
- You’ll relentlessly look for improvements in financial and operational areas to maximize the value of our operating assets.
- You’ll create detailed, comprehensive project, fund, and fleet level reporting on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting basis as needed to anticipate stakeholder questions.
- You’ll build process, structure, and work products to support management and reporting of operating assets – including preparation of operating performance summary reports for financing parties.
- You’ll be the master of your work destiny, and you’ll have autonomy and ownership over roadmaps, KPIs, priorities, and initiatives for the portfolio management team. You will have direct access and dialogue with C level executives and founders.
- You’ll roll up your sleeves and assist the finance team in acquiring and selling solar assets, structuring new finance programs, and facilitating underwriting and diligence processes.
- You will drive the systemization and automation of the program, including leveraging technology where available. King’s business model provides unique opportunities for the asset management role to drive significant top-line value.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a related field.
- Experience with commercial scale solar projects and larger renewable portfolios
- Familiarity with asset management software and platforms
